お客さんから、

Can I have a CC and coke (シーシーアンドコーク)?

とか、

Can I have a JD and coke (ジェーディーアンドコーク)?

とよく注文される。

CC and cokeは、Canadian Club and Coke
JD and cokeは、Jack Daniels and Coke

の略語。

Jack Daniels and Cokeは、

Jack and Coke
Jack n Coke
Jack and Cocacola
Jack daniels and Coke

同じ飲み物だけど、いろんな言い方がありますね。

Me: How are you?
CustomerA: I'm good. Yourself?
Me: I'm good too. What can I help you with?
CustomerA: Can I please have a lift and lemon squash?
Me: ... Well... Lift and lemon squash are the same drink.
CustomerA: Ahh, is it??? :@
Me: Yeah they are the same drink. We have only the one brand.
CustomerA: Ahh ok doesn't matter. :D Two of those please.
(I just finish pouring the drinks and put on the bar as the customer's friend came to the bar.)
CustomerB: Which is mine?
Me: ...

フィッシュ アンド マッシュ

Me: Hello how are you? May I help you?
Customer: Can I have fish and chips but can I get it without chips?
Me: Would you like to have only fish and salad?
Customer: Can I get mash instead of chips?
Me: Yes you can.
Customer: Thanks.
Me: One fish and chips,,, well fish and mash, anything else?
Customer: LOL. No that's all.
Me: Eighteen fifty please.
Customer: Thanks.

バーでブラックといわれたら

(At the bar)

Me: Are you all right?
Customer: Can I have a black please.
Me: Guinness or tooheys?
Customer: Old please.
Me: No worries, sir.
Bar staff: Here you are.
Customer: Thanks.

この会話でお客さんがいう"black"とは、ギネスのような黒っぽい色をしたビールのこと。
Tooheysにもいろんな種類があって、ここでは、Tooheys OLD Black Aleをお客さんが注文したことになる。

"消防車"という飲み物

(At the bar)

Me: Hello, are you all right?
Customer: Can I have a fire engine please.
Me: A fanta orange?
Customer: ??? A fire engine.
Bar staff: No worries, sir.
(staff next to me listening to our conversation, quickly makes a raspberry lemonade.)
Bar staff: Here you are.
Customer: Thanks.

Me: Ohh thank you. I didn't know what a "fire engine" was.
Bar staff: Yeah it's a hard one isn't it? It's old style. You know fire engine's how they are red? So they call Raspberry lemonade a fire engine. Only a few customers still call it that. I didn't know I started to work in the bar.
Me: Oh ok, thank you. I'll remember it next time.
